Eduardo Mejia Urrea, A Living Legend, Memorial & Legacy On September 28, 2022 at 4 pm Eduardo Mejia Urrea, beloved husband of Blanca Florez de Mejia died peacefully in Miami, Florida. He was 90 years old and is survived by his wife, and 5 Children, Maria Angela, Luis Eduardo, Blanca Estella, Pablo Roberto and Ricardo. Eduardo was born in Manizales, Colombia on Sept 9, 1932 and growing up always had a desire to serve and heal the sick. He graduated from la Javeriana Medical School in 1956 and moved to the United States in 1960 where he continued his mediacal intership and became a very succcessful plastic surgeon and family doctor with Miami Springs Ambulatory CLinic. Eduardo was a very active Golfer. his passion. He loved to travel the world, enjoyed cooking and became involved with many Humanitarian organizations. A leader of the Colombian Community, he started many non Profits, to name a few, the Miami Colombian Lions Club, Asocol, Association of Colombian Orgs, Sister Cities Program, US Colombian Medical Association, Javerian Alumni Club, Chien de Rotisseire and even his own Golf Association, Colaga. Eduardo also had a passion for family, freindships and social gatherings. He was very popular in his community and many of his parties at his home in Coral Gables, included Presidents of Colombia, Business Leaders and Celebrities. His most famous dish was the Padella. Eduardo has become a Legend and dear friend to all who knew him. His memorial will live forever as a man of Dignity, Honor and deep Devotion to his family. A memorial service will be held on Oct 10 at 1 pm at St John Newmans CHurch, Miami
