Summer Solstice and Kogi Dreams

June 21, 2005

Dear Family of Light and new viewers to this blog.

Today is the Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year and the day the sun stands still in the sky.

Summer Solstice (sometimes 24th)

As the sun spirals its longest dance,
Cleanse us, As nature shows bounty and fertility
Bless us,
Let all things live with loving intent
And to fulfill their truest destiny
Taken from a Wiccan blessing for Summer

We are solar children with an inner galaxy. As above so below...as outside so inside. The Sun is our Father and the Moon our Mother. In ancient times the sun was seen as God and giver of all life. His movement across the skys was watched and recorded. Certain days had special spiritual and ritualistic significance. The Equinox and Solstice were opening portals into other dimensions and ways to activate our innertemples. Solstice, Midsummer or Litha means a stopping or standing still of the sun. It is the longest day of the year and the time when the sun is at its maximum elevation.

This date has had spiritual significance for thousands of years as humans have been amazed by the great power of the sun. The Celts celebrated withbonfires that would add to the sun's energy, Christians placed the feast of St John the Baptist towards the end of June and it is also the festival of Li, the Chinese Goddess of light.

Like other religious groups, Pagans are in awe of the incredible strength ofthe sun and the divine powers that create life. For Pagans this spoke in the Wheel of the Year is a significant point. The Goddess took over the earth from the horned God at the beginning of spring and she is now at the heightof her power and fertility. For some the Summer Solstice marks the marriage of the God and Goddess and see their union as the force that creates the harvest's fruits. This is a time to celebrate growth and live in balance. We are deeply aware of the ongoing shifting of the seasons it is also time to acknowledge that the sun will now begin to decline once more towards winter. When celebrating midsummer we draw on dthe suns power to heal us and let go of the old. In England we have the ancient religious sites, Stonehenge and Avebury which are created in perfect alignment to see the sun. We can see the rising on the first morning of summer.

The Summer SolsticeWith the warmth of the season caressing the land, the celebration of the Summer Solstice brings forth a truly joyous recognition that we can now enjoy the fruits of our labors in the past season. It is not surprising that this same spirit of pleasure and fun had carried over into our modern-dayrecognition of this, the longest day of the year. Falling on or about June 22nd, the Summer Solstice is a time of light and offire. It is a time to reflect upon the growth of the season: the seeds that were planted in the earth and the seeds planted in our souls. It is a time of cleansing and renewal. It is a time of love and growth as well. The First Harvest.

This is the time of the first harvest, which usually consisted of the herbs planted during the Vernal Equinox. Used for food, medicines and ritual, these gifts of the land clearly denote the importance of the harvest and thecycle of growth to the body, mind and soul.http://www.equinox-and-solstice.com/html/summer_solstice.html

So lets celebrate this day as a new vision for the self. An inner sun awakening the powers we have within and showing the wisdom of our healer within.

Let the Sun's rays wash all the troubles away...

Now for some news that I sent to my network,. It is in the form of letters of light and gives you more background on the Kogi project.

Dear Family of Light,

I wanted to give an update of what is going on with the Kogi Film, my life, future plans, as well as my new email Lcondorkogi@yahoo.com .

After 2 months in the sacred land, my true home, Bogota, Colombia, I learned you can’t rush a good thing and working with Elders… patience and detachment is a must.

My trip to Colombia was one of humility and going with the flow. All plans are subject to change and this trip was learning to be a river and flowing.

A trip I had planned to India didn’t happen and the synchronicities that happened after confirmed the need to stay in Bogota. 3 days after I renounced my trip to India I met one of the main Mamas of the Arhuacos. They started a new foundation called Nuevo Amanecer Indigena. We connected on a deep level and they are very supportive of our work at Tribal Ink News

I also connected with a French film maker who was working on the film supported by Drunvalo and all the footage we thought was lost is now found and in safe keeping.

I also participated in a Film Fund sponsored by the Colombian Film Office and Proimagenes. They liked our project and we have a 98% chance of getting funded and support from the Minister of Culture. Winners will be announced in Aug 2005.

I went to the Sierra and had a meeting with the 2 Elders working the health situation and got a letter of approval for our film and raising funds for the hospital.

The day I arrived in Santa Marta there was a news article in the local paper with the headline….Ïndigenas Kogis habrian sido asesinados. Translation- 3 Kogi Indians have been killed. This is now common news and nothing is investigated and nothing is done to find justice. The Kogis killed were Jose Barros, Jose Gil and Fermin Coronado.

What can we do? Stand up and raise your voice!! No one knows what is going on in this sacred land and if we do nothing…we will see the last, pure Pre-Colombian tribe vanish before our eyes. This is serious news!!!

I left Colombia with the promise that I will produce the film and help raise funds for the Hospital. This is my vision and I pray those whose heart is touched will join our campaign and come forward to help.

We really need your help!! I can not do this alone. Our main obstacle now is funding and logistical support. So if you are touched please email me with your thoughts and donation.

The Future Plans ---

Bring 5 Mamas to the US starting in September 2005 for a tour in the “Magic Bus”
With a final message and concert to the UN on Oct 24 United Nations Day.

Tour will visit 5 main cities and will be a chance for the Kogi to do ceremony with the Native Elders of North America.

Key cities- Miami, 4 Corners area Arizona (Hopi Land) , Los Angeles, Washington, DC and New York.

The tour will fulfill a prophecy that the Condor has to come and do ceremony with the Eagle in the sacred land of Amerikua.
So as we learn to flow and become that river, we see that some things are fixed and will happen, we just have to have faith and not give up.

So if you feel touched and have an open heart please join our cause.

From the heart,

Lucho L Condor
